This is the second channel of Explosions&Fire. More detailed synthesis videos are here, where I do chemistry and mumble about life a lot, as apposed to just lighting things on fire for 2 minutes.

this is horrifying i love it
Its a dark day indeed when E&F ends the video with "Maybe you should just go get the proper solvents.."
Mmm possum stew!
Maybe I’m late to the party but you can make very high concentration sulfuric acid with divided cell electrolysis using Epson salt solution.
I wish i had some of that cool MSG electrode
Hey mate, Just read a patent about producing Aminoguanidine via electrolysis. Would make an awesome video if you could ever get around to it.
When my grandfather poured the concrete slab for his home, he mixed in the anti-termite insecticide. The worst lead pollution was easily caused by leaded, high octane petrol/gasoline. Its still used in low lead Avgas.
Gotta be like a brewery/food safe wash for dairy. I use stuff like this for brewing beer.
7:12 slower damnit. That was way too fast.
I study biomedical & archaeological sciences at uni, you questioning everything about bones at the start of the video is how I feel when I have to do literally the most basic chemistry/stoichiometry for my degrees
Unexpected entomology 😮
I believe lead arsenate is toxic to insects because they have an enzyme that breaks the chemical into its components, lead and arsenic. Higher animals lack the enzyme so lead arsenate is excreted harmlessly. Lead and arsenic are still environmental contaminants, though.
There is a very interesting connection between Lead Arsenate and the first polio epidemics in the U.S.(1841 & 1894). ua-cam.com/video/L7wYUnQUESU/v-deo.html In fact, one of the early pesticides used at the time was an arsenic based product frequently referred to as Paris Green or Schwein-Furth Green. By 1882, it was already known that exposure to arsenic, including the arsenic contained in these pesticides, could cause paralysis and lesions of the spinal cord in both humans and animals. This product was widely used in the U.S. and initially used against the gypsy moth that had invaded Boston by the 1890’s. However, when it was discovered that Paris Green could not be applied in “sufficient quantity to kill the caterpillars without seriously injuring the foliage” a chemist with the Gypsy Moth Commission suggested that lead arsenate be used. Coincidently, the first outbreak of paralysis in the U.S. in over 50 years occurred in Boston during this time.
Somehow the camerawork always makes me expect the video to take a dark turn involving either The Rake, or Slenderman within a few seconds. But it doesn't happen. It hasn't. Not yet.
did someone say something about your disgusting fingernails or something?!? Such a bizarre thing to say....
We want a homemade rocket series, I know it's not all chemistry but that would be so cooool
CdS+Money -> CdO lol😂
So as a biology perspective - malathion is actually still used in prescription medicines- topical solutions for lice and fleas and mites like scabies, and where you run into things like the ironic case where one of the senior doctors told me about where they treated someone for organophosphate poisoning and then ironically having to give a limited dose of less toxic organophosphates for their headlice found subsequently
my girlfriend dumped me while watching this video. Evil!
The worst thing about being bitten by a snake or a spider means you're probably Australian. 🤢
this dude's funny lol
Great video Dingo! I love the channel
Dude the moustache is epic! Hell yeah lol. Edit: Time to invest in Rhodium lmao 😂
Please forgive me: iron 3 before gta 6 I’m so sorry I had to say it
Ofc bayer made poison what didn't bayer do
I heard of pcp
Ngl old chem is fun chem new chem is too woke
I also occasionally ask this 7:10
Mmm...the Forbidden Mint Shake. Who knew you could add ammonia and then get the Forbidden Blue Sno-Cone Mix? Never mind adding hydrogen sulfide to the one solution to make the Forbidden Ecto-Cooler.
I love ya mate, ya sick cunt
Cupperpicrate?
The oldest texts we have are from Sumeria/Mesopotamia and actually record slave names, taxes, inventory (capital).... When you say we forget "how good things were".... They've not been good in a hot minute. We're slaves and have been living some dudes wet dream for AT LEAST 3 millennia....
My chemistry instructor used to say "Chem Is Try" And I feel like there's never been a truer statement.
Haha is one of your family members named Cleetus by any chance. The burnt mattress is equal parts hilarious and creepy
I dunno what you're doing with your PhD, but TBH if you were my chemistry teacher, I may have stuck it out when it mattered most, as a teen, and probably would have dramatically changed my auHD outcome in this consumerism learned helplessness society, disABLED by 37
I see we have made it to the "Ire" part of extractions and Ire 🤣 Congrats on finishing your PHD. I'm glad you've decided to stop making ice cream and finish your paper.

If you have dry methanol. Since benzene miscible with methanol but hexanes are not.
its been three years where did the glove box go :(
Shouldn't you wear a respirator while working with tetrachlorides
HOLY SHIT APHEX TWIN
Home lab Chemistry gives me flashbacks...
Chlordane was always my dad's personal favorite. I still remember the 25lb bag he kept around.
I hate to remember that a lot of bugs just do not have lungs. Those freaks are just running around hoping enough oxygen flows through them? Yucky.
All memes aside, great fucking work. 10/10
I know zero, zip, nada, even nada 3 about chemistry, I know some elements and that’s about it, and that being said it’s a lot easier to follow your videos and understand them than a lot of other people on UA-cam that do this, awesome videos !
olive oil is too bloody yellow to begin with. of course its gonna turn to pissy shit
